Friday, May 17
5:45 pm: ‘Songs of Inspiration’ Kabbalat Shabbat service led by Music & Youth Director Sarah Metzger
Music is a powerful tool that can be used to inspire us, motivate us, challenge and comfort us, often at the same time. Sarah posed the following question to the honorees being recognized on May 17 and is crafting the service around their answers: What song (or lyric or prayer or poem or text) has impacted you in a significant, meaningful way? This will be a memorable service you won’t want to miss!
7 pm: Dinner honoring Young Leadership Award winner Jacob Halpern and Jewish Inspiration Award winners the Minyanaires, led by Melvin Zivitz, Jeff Padawer, David Reznik and Matt Levey
This meat meal is catered by Chef Clif Holt of Little Savannah and includes herb-roasted chicken or quinoa salad, vegetable sides, rosemary new potatoes, challah, desserts, and wine.
Guest speakers honoring award winners will follow dinner.
Saturday, May 18
9:30 am: Morning Shabbat services led by Rabbi Stephen and Sarah Metzger
This service honors all of our Temple volunteers and highlights the many ways in which they make a substantial impact on the synagogue.
11 am: Tot Shabbat Monthly Special: Colette’s Summer Fun
Join Colette, Alex, Bryant and Shoshana Grodner for some tasty ice cream to celebrate the beginning of summer and the “milk and honey holiday,” Shavuot.
Dairy Kiddush luncheon following services is provided by CoKo Catering and includes baked falafel, hummus, tabbouleh, Israeli salad, fresh fruit, baklava, halvah and more.
