Celebrate the Beth El Civil Rights Experience! 

Join us Friday, May 2nd, at 5:45 p.m. for a musical Kabbalat Shabbat service featuring our amazing Davening team. Services will be followed by a delicious spring-time dinner!

The celebration continues at our Saturday morning Shabbat services, beginning at 9:30 a.m., during which we will honor donors, committee members, and others who have brought the Civil Rights Experience to life! Special honors will be given to Marc Rice, winner of the first annual Tzedek Tirdof (Pursuing Justice) Award, and Susan Lapidus, winner of the first annual Ambassador Award.

The Rev. Thomas Wilder, senior pastor of the historic Bethel Baptist Church will give a guest D'var and a celebratory Kiddush luncheon will follow. Throughout the weekend, you'll be able to view a special exhibit on loan, designed by student interns from the Alabama African American Civil Rights Heritage Sites Consortium; "As Goes Birmingham, So Goes the Country: Birmingham and the 1963 Battle for Civil Rights."
