Welcome to David’s Bar Mitzvah. We are very excited to have you (virtually) here with us. Although a Bar Mitzvah during a pandemic is an interesting challenge, David was up for the challenge. Having learned all of the Torah readings and having prepared his haftorah, David was ready to go in May. Unfortunately, only weeks before his bar mitzvah, we had to postpone. We had hoped that October was far enough out that he would be able to experience today with all our friends, family and community. Fate and COVID determined otherwise. Nonetheless, we are so proud of David’s perseverance and the work he has put in to make today possible. Mark your calendars, we are already looking forward to a Re-Mitzvah event May 29, 2021, where David can share some accomplishments with his greater community and we can celebrate him properly – with food and fellowship!
As part of his Bar Mitzvah, David has chosen a way to personally make a contribution to better the world around him. David’s abiding love of birds has led him to a concern for trees and deforestation. As part of his bar mitzvah celebration, look for some representations of trees in different places. More about that and his Bar Mitzvah “project” coming in May. Shabbat Shalom and thank you for spending your Shabbat morning with us.
