Temple Beth-El has been a fixture and architectural gem on Birmingham’s vibrant Southside for decades. Our “spiritual home” features such classical details as gracious arches, limestone accents, colorful stained glass windows and magnificent brass entry doors.

Renovations to the interior and additions such as the Nathan and Rose Filler Cultural Center over the years have only enhanced the synagogue’s beauty and functionality as a gathering place for not only TBE members but the larger Jewish and greater Birmingham communities as well. In addition to our members simchas and regular TBE events and services, Temple Beth-El is proud to host important community gatherings, which in recent years have included the Birmingham Jewish Federation’s awards event, Collat Jewish Family Services’ annual meeting, the Birmingham Holocaust Education Center’s Yom Hashoah program, the “Standing With Pittsburgh: A Prayer Gathering For Peace” community event and the “Open Sukkah,” interfaith homelessness program. With the addition of the Halpern-Levitt KidZone & Family Center located in the Filler Social Hall, we’re now able to provide even more opportunities for families and children to gather.
